“Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.” – Plato

The benefits of a musical education have been well documented. Some studies suggest early exposure to music may help with language and reasoning ability, while other studies show that music helps children develop math skills and spatial intelligence.

The Palmas Academy also recognizes less tangible benefits. Music is a means of self-expression and students who study music realize the benefits of discipline and hard work. Music, like other arts, is a way for children to access and understand diverse cultures.

As part of the school’s mission to provide its students with a well-rounded education, The Palmas Academy invites all students to participate in musical activities. Students at every grade level have the opportunity to interact with music through singing, playing instruments, and the experience of performing live in our annual concert. The school’s drama program also frequently includes musical theater performances.
